Finding the Good in Bad News

Last night at church during the prayer request time, it was announced that Ruth Willey’s house had burned down. Where she lived is very prone to flooding so the house flooded. Then two days after it flooded, in the middle of the night it burned down. It was a six-alarm fire. She and her husband lost everything.

But she was thankful that the fire was in the middle of the night and after the house had flooded. That meant they weren’t home so the fire couldn’t harm them. What a fantastic attitude! They are currently with their son and his family at the Lake of the Ozarks. They may end up there permanently once the insurance claim is settled. At this point, they don’t know what caused the fire.
