“Attending” A Funeral

A friend from church passed away this week. She battled cancer for several years. Her funeral was Tuesday evening at our church. Time got away from me and I wasn’t able to get to the church. But they live-streamed her funeral so I was able to “attend” sitting here at my computer.

It was a nice service. There were several tributes paid to her by people she had worked with during her 40-year career in the Global Missions department of the UPCI. A flag from the UPCI was presented to the family as was a scrapbook of messages from missionaries around the world.

This was the second evening funeral we’ve had this year. Is this a new trend? Is there some reason for holding the service in the evening?
