The Ten on Tuesday topic today was what ten series of books you have read. As you are aware, I don’t participate in the Ten on Tuesday posts but I do like to read them. Today’s topic was educational … for me. I didn’t realize I read so many series.
As I read the lists other bloggers wrote, I realize I read or have read more series than I first thought. Of course, the Agatha Christie books were on several lists. The Harry Potter books were pretty much universally listed. But some of my favorite books such as Diane Mott Davidson’s books also made the list. The beauty of those, in my opinion, is that they can be read as stand-alone books.
Other books I’ve read who made at least one other person’s list were the Lady Detective Agency books (author is Alexander McCall I think) and Jan Karon’s books about Father Tim. I’m so glad she has a new book about him coming out soon. I was a little disappointed that Laura Child’s teashop mysteries didn’t make the list. She’s one of my favorite authors.
A lot of the series were mysteries. I guess that’s to be expected. I’m going to have to re-read those blog posts before my next visit to the library. I think I may find some new “favorites” in those lists.
