Unusual Travelogue

Last night was the final travelogue for this season. It was a most unusual program. It was about refuge camps in Sudan. In fact, I’d say it was more a program about the camps than it was about a travelogue although the lecturer did include comments about what it took to be able to travel there.

In her film, we met some of the people she met there and she gave details of their lives. She was an interesting speaker and I would have enjoyed listening to more of her remarks.

Are you aware there are 20,000 people in the refuge camps? Do you know that all the food aid from the U.S. has to be grown in the U.S. before it can be shipped to the camps, thus taking many months to reach the refuges?

I think I would have to say that this was the most thought-provoking program this season.
