This week I’ve realized I’m missing Borders bookstore. As you know, they went out of business. But oh how I’d love to sit in their café with a coffee and my knitting once more. My knitting group used to meet there. The group has disbanded now because it never found another place so congenial to meet.
I miss browsing through the books. I knew just which sections contained the authors I most enjoyed. It was fun to explore the magazine stands for new-to-me publications. I enjoyed shopping for toys and craft kits for gifts.
There is a Barnes & Noble near me. However, I don’t find it to be as welcoming. Their café isn’t as comfortable. I haven’t spent enough time there to know the store as well as I knew Borders. Guess I should make an effort to get to know it before it disappears like Borders did.
