My library is making some changes effective next week which puzzle me.
In the past, you could check out best sellers for a week and longer best sellers — like a Sue Grafton novel — for two weeks. Beginning next week, we will be able to renew those books for one time.
Check out times for most other items has been three weeks. That is changing to two weeks. In the past we were limited to checking out 15 items. Now we will be able to check out 30 items.
Here’s what I don’t understand. How are we supposed to read 30 items in just two weeks? The clerks have always been impressed when I checked out 15 items and returned them within three weeks but there is no way I could read 30 items in two weeks.
Oh, well, they’re not saying I have to check out 30 items at a time. That’s good because I don’t know that I can carry 30 books at one time.
