Small Accomplishments

Today is a day of small accomplishments. First up was taking my sister to her doctor’s appointment. She wanted to stop at Wal-Mart on the way home to get some canning/jelly jars. She’s making watermelon jelly for Christmas presents. She’s never tried this recipe so we’re wondering how it will turn out.

Next errand was to take my car to the firm specified by my insurance company to get an estimate for repairs of the damage I did the other day when I backed into my sister’s neighbor’s car. From there I stopped by the auto body shop that I prefer to have do the work. Have an appointment to take the car in on October 31. There can be no scarier sight on that day than some of the cars I saw there today, waiting to be repaired. Some were so disformed that I wondered why they weren’t totalled out and the owners just buy a different car. I wonder, too, if the drivers were able to get out of some of those cars. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are in the hospital.

Next up was a phone call to check on the progress of a business negotiation. Then it was time to pack up some return merchandise. I had ordered some outfits from a new-to-me catalogue and they didn’t fit. This was disappointing because there is another catalogue that I order from which usually fits me just fine. Guess I should stick to ordering from that company.

Still have a few more small chores to do today. I feel good about what I’ve accomplished so far but getting those last things marked off the “to do” list, will be like icing on the cake.

Well done! I know just how you must be feeling. I too have had day like yours despite all that is happening here. Two more things to do and then the list can be filed in the round filing cabinet! A great feeling of accomplishment.
