Getting the sweater for my great-nephew completed by Christmas has always been a bit of a gamble. Things were looking up at the end of the weekend since I had had time to work on it. Sleeves were completed and joined to the body. I was making progress on the yoke. At knit group on Tuesday I managed to reach the place where the neckline splits for the placket and start that.
But one of my clients sent me a big typing job that needs to be done this week. There went my knitting time. Given that I have to finish that job and get it in the mail back to the client before Christmas, finishing the sweater yoke is a very iffy proposition … to say nothing of the nine inches of hood. So I think I should just wrap up the book I bought as an alternate just-in-case gift and plan to give the sweater for his birthday in February. It’s being knit from Cotton-Ease so he’ll be able to wear it into the spring.
