Sorry I missed posting this yesterday. It was a busy day and, sadly, I just forgot about it. It’s not much of an excuse but it’s hard to type with cold fingers.
About two weeks ago we were having warm weather with the highs in the upper 70s. One day I was sitting at the computer and heard the furnace running … and running … and running. I was getting warmer and warmer and then hot. I checked the thermostat … it was 89 in my house!
I turned the thermostat off and waited for the house to cool down. It was still very warm (in lower 80s) by bedtime so I turned on the air conditioner in order to get the house cool enough to sleep. The next day I was on the phone to the furnace man.
I don’t know if my problem is with the thermostat or the furnace but the furnace man will be here later to determine and fix whatever the problem is.
Oh, the cold fingers … of course, the weather turned cold almost immediately after I turned the furnace off. The lows have been in the 30s or upper 20s and the highs have been in the 40s. I’ve been using my small electric space heater to warm whatever room I’m in and staying bundled up in an effort to be warm. I snuggle under several blankets and a heavy comforter when I sleep.
Do you think I’d be out of line if I hugged the furnace man when he rings the doorbell?
