Well, I was up at 4 a.m. today to go to the poll to be an election judge. That’s the worst part of this job. I’m trying not to think about dealing with the “observer” or other issues that may come up. Instead I’m concentrating on after today there will be no more negative ads.
I packed my cushion for the chair, my lunch, the cups for coffee that I was asked to bring and a knitting project for slow periods. I really hope there aren’t too many of those. The day goes much faster when we have a steady stream of voters. It’s a long time between 5 a.m. when we arrive to set up the poll and 7 p.m. when the poll closes to voters. Then it takes between 30 minutes to an hour to actually close things up. It will be another early bedtime tonight.
