What bird is that?

Tuesday I saw a group of birds that was new to me.  It was a small, long-legged bird.  It was smaller than a robin and definitely thinner than a robin.  It seemed to be as comfortable walking as it was flying.  The main color was a greyish/tannish color.  The tail had white feathers with a caramel color bar on them.  The head also had white and caramel markings.  I’ve never seen this bird and have no clue what it was.

Can you identify this bird for me?  Was it a migratory bird just passing through on its way to somewhere else?

Some kind of a thrush? Except for the white feathers on the tail it sounds a little like a wood thrush.
